iDirect Technologies CEO, John Kealey, Nominated For Satellite Executive Of The Year
Via Satellite Magazine Cites The Company's Three-Fold Growth In Revenue
RESTON, Va. - February 5, 2004 - iDirect Technologies, a privately held company that designs, develops, and markets the fastest, most reliable bi-directional satellite-based broadband access solutions announced today that John Kealey, the company's president and CEO, was recognized as one of the top satellite executives of 2003. Via Satellite magazine, published by PBI Media LLC, announced in its February issue that John Kealey was nominated as one of the five finalists for its annual Satellite Executive of The Year award. The winner will be announced at the SATELLITE 2004 Conference in Washington D.C. on March 4.
"This is really an honor for the entire iDirect team," said Mr. Kealey. "We challenged the organization to rethink the direction of the business and focus on what we do better than anyone else, fast, reliable, two-way, IP communications over satellite. The industry has recognized the iDirect advantage, and the results have been phenomenal."
In 2003 iDirect shifted their distribution model to focus on their core competence - broadband IP over satellite access equipment. This change opened the door to a number of successful global partnerships with some of the best providers of broadband access to multi-national corporations, enterprise and government customers. This focus helped lead to a three-fold revenue growth in 2003.
"In deciding the final nominees for this year's award, there were many factors for consideration," said Nick Mitsis, editor of Via Satellite magazine. "Exhibiting strong growth and focus, iDirect, led by John Kealey's vision and foresight, excelled in 2003 and considering the company's relatively young entrance into the market compared to many established players, propelled Kealey into a slot among the five final nominees."
