Check out our video recap from the week and see if you can spot yourself!
If you attended SATELLITE 2019 last week, then you know how very busy our biggest industry show turns out to be. We had back-to-back meetings, many opportunities to network, sessions to see, plus hearing the latest innovations from our partners. Needless to say, it was a productive and thought-provoking week.
We were excited by your overwhelmingly positive response to our expanding DVB-S2X iQ Series remote portfolio. Now we’re getting ready to launch the iQ LTE Series – which brings software defined networking (SDN) capability into a single DVB-S2/DVB-S2X LTE hybrid remote. We also provided a preview of our new iQ 800 Aero Board that’s designed for operation on commercial aircraft exceeding 500 Mbps aggregate throughput to iDirect Velocity®.
We were also thrilled to hear about so many successes from customers that have deployed our iQ Desktop, iQ 200 Board, iQ 200 Rackmount, and how they are stimulating new revenue growth.
As we saw at SATELLITE this year, it’s imperative that we integrate the technology that drives our industry today with innovation that will shape our emerging future. Perhaps the most important topic of discussion was around 5G and its potential to satellite achieving full interoperability within the end-to-end 5G network.
We see the movement toward 5G as a path to standards-based access for a fully converged, end-to-end network. This is the ultimate opportunity for the satellite industry to break out of its niche and for us to offer a much wider range of services, while enabling mobile operators to leverage satellite connectivity to expand their coverage areas and offload their networks through critical functionalities like multicasting, backhauling, and mobility access where satellite is the proven choice.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us. What a great week!
