Our partner ecosystem is critical to our success, and we enjoy sharing in their key milestones and achievements!
We’d like to congratulate our partner, Kymeta on the successful demonstration of LEO-GEO switching at the touch of a button during a demo event held in Fort Worth, Texas from April 20-22. The demo featured the Kymeta Osprey™ u8 which provides a completely customized connectivity platform for the military community that mounts easily on a wide array of military vehicles and vessels.
Held in collaboration with Kymeta’s partner OneWeb, and utilizing their Atlas testing and demonstration network, the event served as proof of concept for new broadband connectivity services that will be offered to the US government. The demo took visitors through the operation of the terminal and included GEO driving demos. A total of 14 different customer groups attended.
The new managed satellite service offering enables Kymeta to provide government customers with hardware solutions that are packaged with secure and resilient network access from OneWeb Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications company OneWeb. Access to broadband connectivity services from the leading satellite connectivity platform will provide customers with an additional mission-critical connectivity resource, supplementing Kymeta’s existing broadband geostationary orbit (GEO) and 4G cellular service offering.
The Osprey u8 configured with the ST Engineering iDirect 950mp modem board, provides a completely customized connectivity platform for the military community that mounts easily on a wide array of military
vehicles and vessels. It is low visibility, rugged, flexible, and modular.
For government and military users today, size, weight, and power (SWaP) is essential. Our lightweight and power-efficient 950mp is ideal for highly portable COTM solutions, meeting rigorous demands for tactical terminals and delivering mobility and transmission security (TRANSEC).
Working together with our partner ecosystem, we can innovate and reach these key milestones that will be fundamental to the future of satellite connectivity. The reality of true ubiquitous connectivity from multi-orbit constellations and very high throughput satellites (VHTS) is a step closer today.
The Kymeta™ u8 product family provides a complete connectivity solution for on-the-go communications when and where you need it. Our 950mp or iQ 200 modem boards are integrated into the entire u8 range, which is based on Kymeta’s industry leading electronically steered antenna and mounts easily on vehicles and vessels to provide seamless satellite or hybrid satellite/cellular connectivity – and are all LEO-compatible. The range features the Hawk™ u8 and Goshawk™ u8 for on-the-go highly secure TRANSEC communications and Osprey u8 for the military communications-on-the-pause (COTP), communications-on-the-move (COTM) and networks-on-the-move (NOTM), all ideal for military, government, first responders and maritime users.
