SPEAKERS:

Join Don Claussen, CEO of ST Engineering iDirect on March 12 at 1:45 PM for the highly anticipated panel: Ground Systems CEOs: Enabling Multi-Network Services, Preparing for VHTS, Room 145 A/B.

In this session, CEOs and Executive Leaders from some the most innovative ground systems companies in the market gather to share insights on how they are building hardware to enable multi-orbit and multi-network satellite services with cost and performance in mind. The second half of the discussion will focus on how ground segment will shape future VHTS (Very High-Throughput Satellite) services and what ground terminals, antennas and hardware will look like in the VHTS era.

March 10 at 10:45 AM: Unlocking the Next Wave of Growth from Satellite-Telco Integration with Nikola Kromer, VP, Product Marketing at ST Engineering iDirect

The satellite industry is just scratching the surface of the opportunities brought by the integration with the mainstream Telco ecosystem. Analysys Mason forecasts Satellite-Telco service revenues to climb to USD165 billion by 2033 propelled by the development of Direct-to-Device, connected vehicles, IoT and rural broadband. The session will discuss: Implications of Satellite’s inclusion in the 3GPP standardization body; How legacy players can leverage Satellite-Telco integration to compete with Starlink and the new entrants; The barriers the industry needs to brake to unlock the potential in new markets like D2D, IoT or connected cars; The opportunities and challenges satellite actors will face with MNOs, Telcos and terrestrial vendors entering the satellite ecosystem; How industry players need to evolve to adapt to this new ecosystem.

March 13 at 9:30 AM: Mobile Satellite Connectivity for Fleet Operation Safety and Efficiency, with Chris Insall, Head of Mobility at ST Engineering iDirect

Satellite connectivity, combined with recent innovations in edge computing and IoT, is critical in supporting fleet management, vessel tracking, and data analytics applications for a range of enterprise verticals on land and sea, and in the air. In this session, we’ll discuss the impact that satellite technology has made in reducing costs for industries involving fleets of vehicles operating in remote and sometimes harsh environments around the world, including, aviation, shipping, fishing, mining, offshore energy and more. Panelists will also discuss: how connectivity leads to worker safety; cybersecurity and data privacy concerns; and government policies and regulations affecting maritime satellite connectivity.

March 13 at 10:45 AM: The Path to Realizing Satellite-Enabled 6G Connectivity with Cynthia Harty, SVP Corporate Growth at ST Engineering iDirect

Though there are many different perspectives on what 6G (or, post-5G) connectivity will look like, there is broader agreement that satellite VHTS may be in a unique position to support 6G networks. Can 6G elevate satellite services out of niches and into a broader, more commercialized markets? Or, is the investment required in new technology too far out of reach to make a solid business case? In this discussion, industry leaders will discuss both the technical and business challenges of integrating satellites from potentially multiple orbits into cellular networks to create a ubiquitous 6G offering.
